Gary Moore

O LEGADO DE GARY MOORE

O rock perdeu um de seus grandes guitarristas. O irlandês Gary Moore morreu na madrugada de domingo, aos 58 anos. Embora as causas da morte ainda não tenham sido confirmadas, a autópsia aponta para morte natural.

Moore foi um dos grandes guitarristas do rock e um dos maiores bluesmen contemporâneos. Começou sua carreira no grupo Skid Row (uma banda de blues-rock influenciada pelos Bluesbreakers de John Mayall, muito diferente da banda de hair metal), com quem gravou três discos entre 1970 e 1971.

Fez amizade com o baixista e vocalista Phil Lynott, do Thin Lizzy, e participou da banda esporadicamente. Em 1979, Moore gravou o disco Black Rose: A Rock Legend, um dos melhores registros do grupo.

Seu grande sucesso comercial veio com o disco Still got the blues, de 1990. Nesse disco, fica claro o talento de Moore na guitarra, unindo sentimento e técnica de uma maneira única. Em sua carreira solo, o guitarrista ainda gravou outros álbuns importantes, como After hours, de 1993, e Live at Monsters of Rock, um disco ao vivo impecável lançado em 2003.

Moore ainda colaborou com os Traveling Wilburys (o supergrupo de Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison e George Harrison), tocando o solo de “She’s my baby”, música do disco Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3, gravado após a morte de Orbison.
